Because your fabric furnishings are likely the most frequently used items in your home, they are likely to show signs of soil and dirt more quickly.

Your fabric furnishings will look better and last longer if you have them cleaned by a professional.

Our technicians have the proper training and equipment, to identify the fabrics in question and select the appropriate cleaning method for each one.

Performing a DIY clean can often result in the fabrics being damaged during the cleaning process.

Upholstery uses a wide variety of fabrics, and one of the most critical parts of the process is correctly identifying each one.

As with our carpet cleaning service, we take a methodical approach to ensure great results every time, starting with identifying the fabric and vacuuming it thoroughly before using a wet or dry cleaning system.

1/ Inspection /Survey

With upholstery, this step is even more critical because there are so many different fibre and fabric types that can go awry if they aren’t correctly identified.

As part of our investigation into the upholstery, we’ll conduct a series of tests to examine its construction, as well as inquire about its history.

2/ Crush and croc test

These are additional tests to help determine the best cleaning solution and method for your upholstery to ensure that no damage is done.

We’ll also be checking for dye bleed to make sure the clean isn’t marred by colour run.

3/ Dry soil extraction

We thoroughly vacuum the upholstery with our commercial-grade, twin-motor upright hoover before putting it away.

Dry soiling accounts for 80 to 85 percent of all dirt; removing this soiling first is critical to preventing particles from adhering to the fibres when wet and preventing wick back.

4. Prespray & Agitation

Using either a cloth, mitt or drill brush we go over the furniture to work the prespray further into the fibre to loosen any stubborn dirt.

There may be certain items we do not agitate due to weak fibres which may be damaged during this process, this will be decided during the inspection.

5. Extraction

Spray extraction offers the deepest clean (when carried out by trained professionals) for your carpets.

A rinse is applied onto the upholstery and drawn back out by our top of the range extraction machine and upholstery hand tools.

6. Spot Treatment

Having finished the spray extraction we will then go back over your upholstery and look for any spots/stains that need to be treated further.

We will use a suitable stain treatment, where possible sticking to eco-friendly chemicals.

7. Pile Brush

Once the cleaning process is complete, it is necessary to go over the furniture with a special brush to ensure that the pile is returned to its proper position before use.

Sometimes overlooked, it can result in pile damage and, on rare occasions, the upholstery appearing to be different colours in different areas if not done properly.

8. Stain Protection

If you have chosen to have our stain protector applied, this is the stage at which we will do so.

The use of stain protectors will aid in the removal of any future spills or dirt, but they are not foolproof.

Why get your soft furnishings cleaned?

Microorganisms thrive in soft furnishings, and pathogens and dirt can accumulate to the point where they pose a threat to your overall health.

With each time someone sits down on a sofa or chair, they have the potential to release these organisms into the environment.

There are numerous nooks and crannies in your soft furnishings, including down the side of the arm, under the cushions, and numerous other places to hide.

All of these are a dumping ground for crumbs, dirt, dust, and occasionally pocket change J

Consider lifting up your cushion and taking a quick look underneath it; you might be surprised at what you discover!

It’s all a breeding ground for germs and dust mittes, which, if left unchecked, can have serious consequences for the health of you and your family.

Saves you money and keeps it comfortable

You have likely invested a significant sum on your sofa and chairs and as such you want them to last a long time.

It will accomplish this as well as keeping them comfortable if they are cleaned on a regular basis.

They may begin to show signs of wear if left unattended.

Specifically greasy and soiled areas, such as the arms and headrest, can cause the fibres to break down over time, resulting in patches or even holes in the upholstery.

Aesthetics

Our home is our most valuable asset, and as a result, we want to keep it in good condition, especially when we have friends and neighbours over to celebrate.

Having your soft furnishings professionally cleaned will ensure that you are noticed for the right reasons and that your visitors return again and again.

Why use a professional?

It’s in the wording “professional”, we have the correct, training, knowledge and experience along with top of the range equipment and the latest cleaning solutions to get the job done RIGHT.

There are many different types of fabrics and fibres in soft furnishings (even more so than in carpets), and using the incorrect cleaning method or solution could result in irreversible damage to the fabric or fibre.

Every step of our process has been meticulously planned to produce the best possible results while minimising the possibility of causing any damage to the soft furnishings in question.

Because they’re made with the expectation that they’ll need to be cleaned.

If you look on the label of most sofas and chairs and read the care instructions, you will see that they should be cleaned regularly and that they should be cleaned by a professional.

When a manufacturer recommends something, why would you not follow their advice?

Would you have a go at plastering your house, or installing a new boiler?

I’m guessing not. You would choose a professional, do the same with your upholstery.

Insurance

We have never had to make a claim on our insurance but as a business, it’s critical that we have all the right coverage.

If something does go wrong, you can rest assured that we have a plan in place to deal with it.

Since many cowboys will forget this element of their business, you should always check before hiring anyone, and this goes without saying for any tradesmen you bring in to perform work for you..
